“Isolates” by Chad Collofello Art Opening

Chad Robert Collofello is a contemporary artist and instructor who is using his art to drive awareness to social issues that affect a broad audience but tend to be ignored by the mass public. He hopes to use his imagery to help raise awareness, spark conversations, and influence change that will improve our lives on this planet. Inspired by his life, the lives of his children, and the environment, he creates emotive, sometimes surreal figurative images that can bring forth a message of concern for our future while keeping a sophisticated visual composition. His work is led by an inquiry of the human condition, he references memory, interrelationships, and inter-connectivity. It is composed with a balance of high contrasting light and beautifully complimented colors that lighten the weightiness of the subject matter.

Chad Robert was born in Illinois and studied at the School of Fine Art at Illinois State University. There he earned his BFA concentrating in Painting and Printmaking. In 2006 he relocated to the Pacific Northwest and now calls Oregon his home. He has taught drawing and painting courses for Heartland Community College, IL at the McLean County Arts Center, IL, and drawing and watercolor courses for the International Music and Fine Arts Camp, located at the International Peace Gardens.
